Join us for Tuesdays @ Ivanrest for a time of learning. We will meet on Tuesday, February 7, 14, 21 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Supper will be provided from 5:30-6:20pm and 6:30-7:30pm will be learning time. Childcare will be provided for infants through grade 6. Come share a family meal and then we will split off into a time of learning. Three different learning options:
- Faith Stories: Have you ever stopped to think about all the different ways God has been present in your life? God moves in our lives in so many ways and many times we can take it for granted. When we focus on the all God does for us we are able to share those experiences with those we love in our lives. This workshop will help us think well about the many faith stories each of us have had, and then help provide some tools to share those stories. What a blessing for a parent, grandparent or love one to share their experiences with our Almighty God. Eric Tower, English and literature teacher at Grandville HS will be leading us in a three part workshop that will help us think about, write out and share the many powerful ways God has worked in our lives. You don’t want to miss it.
- Civil Rights: From Black Lives Matter to White Supremacists to Mass Incarceration, race relations has become a divisive topic in our current culture often leaving us unable to learn and talk together in a healthy way. Using the newly released and universally acclaimed documentary entitled “13th”, we will together trace the history of race relations in the United States and discern our possible response as followers of Jesus Christ. Join Pastor Tony each week of Tuesdays at Ivanrest as we watch a section of the documentary and then reflect together.
- Parenting Class (aimed at parents with children ages Kindergarten-6th grade): Led by April Oglesby, Marriage and Family Therapist at Wedgewood Christian Services. Even if you came last year you will learn something new!
