Music in Motion

Organizer: Steve Winkle

Music in Motion is designed to help young children (ages 1-5) experience music with their bodies while enhancing their language development, fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination. They learn to watch a conductor as they stay active for 50 minutes, a wonderful bonding experience for children and caregivers. It is required for a parent (or other caregiver) to be present with your child(ren) for his/her/their safety. You can also validate them in their exploration, help them remember the concepts later, and even sing some of the songs with them during the week!

Please join us this fall on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 -11:00 AM (gathering time at 9:30 and class will begin at 9:40) on the front lawn of Ivanrest Church. Please bring an outdoor blanket if you have one because the grass will be wet. If not, a regular blanket is fine, and we will have some tarps available to keep your blanket dry (also feel free to bring your own tarp). Families will receive individual bags of instruments to be used during the class that we will sanitize before and after.

Following the music portion, we will have packaged drinks and snacks available during a fellowship time outside, and please do your best to maintain safe social distancing throughout the morning.

To get an idea on numbers, please RSVP using the link below. If we need to cancel due to weather or any other reason, we will do our best to send an email and post on our Facebook page by 8:30 a.m. each Tuesday.

If you (or a friend) are planning to join us this year for the first time, please fill out our Music in Motion Registration Form

Hope to see you soon!
