Music in Motion is designed to help young children (ages 1-5) experience music with their bodies while enhancing their language development, fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination. They learn to watch a conductor as they stay active for 45 minutes, a wonderful bonding experience for children and caregivers. It is required for a parent (or other caregiver) to be present with your child(ren) for his/her/their safety. You can also validate them in their exploration, help them remember the concepts later, and even sing some of the songs with them during the week!
We are excited to begin the inside edition of Music in Motion on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 - 10:30 in the Ivanrest Church gym. Please park behind church and enter through the back door. Once in the gym, you will see carpet squares spaced roughly 12 feet apart, so if you picture the carpet square in the middle of your blanket (or feel free to bring your blanket), you will have roughly that amount of space for your family unit.
We will spend the first 15 minutes getting everyone their bags of instruments and situated in the gym, so it's no problem if you are running a little late. From roughly 9:45 - 10:30, our leader will lead your children and any adults who want to participate through a variety of fun rhythms and movements that sync with her children's playlist.
If we need to cancel due to weather or any other reason, we will do our best to send an email and post on our Facebook page by 8:30 a.m. each Tuesday.
