As Christ-followers we live in the narrative of our faith, and during the season of Advent we anticipate Christ’s coming through the rhythm of storytelling. We remember, we share, we listen to the story of Christ’s birth.
December 1: Rev. Sam Gutierrez, illustrator of The Jesse Tree: A Story of Unexpected Abundance, will share how the symbols of the Jess Tree help us remember and reflect on God’s story as we wait for the coming Messiah. The tradition of the Jesse Tree is to hang an ornament each day to remember the stories on Jesus’ family tree.
December 8: Dr. Jennifer Holbert, co-director of the Calvin Center for Faith and Writing, will share how we, as story-shaped people, are shaped by the narrative of the incarnation.
December 15: Come learn about the ancient tradition of O Antiphons, Scripture-based advent prayers, from Sister Mary Katherine Fodrocy, OP of the Dominican Center at Marywood.
