Adults and teens* are invited to join us March 21 as Protect Young Eyes teaches us about the areas of the Internet that are dangerous and gives us the tools to fight back. Their presentation focuses on four main areas that are safety risks for kids and teens:
1. Pornography: Porn changes the teenage brain, damages souls and kills real love. This is the #1 most pressing issue facing teens today.
2. Cyberbullying: Almost half of kids have experienced some form of cyberbullying. Technology enables ruthless behavior without accountability.
3. Sexual Predators: The most popular category of sexual search is the word “youth”. Not all doorways into your home can be locked anymore.
4. Damaged Reputations: A tweet that shouldn’t have been sent, a picture that shouldn’t have been taken. The Internet doesn’t forget anything.
Regardless of whether you currently have kids or teens living in your home, if you have technology in your home, this presentation is something we highly encourage you to attend. Protect Young Eyes will give you the tools to recognize the risks and protect the ones you love from those who would seek to hurt them via the Internet.
Join us for a presentation, discussion and dessert! Please RSVP here or by calling the church office (616-534-3114).
*Presentation content is PG-14. For more information on content, contact Brent.
