GEMS is designed for girls ages third-sixth grade. We meet the second and fourth Wednesday of each month (September-April). The name GEMS is an acronym which stands for Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior. The purpose of GEMS is to bring girls into a living relationship with Jesus Christ. To help foster this all-important relationship between each girl and Christ, other relationships are nurtured as well – between girls and between girls and their leader. Girls will have a great time sharing devotions, special arts and crafts, service projects, and lots of laughter!  Led by caring women, girls will be encouraged to learn, share, and reach out to others. The girls are grouped according to grade.

At Ivanrest Church each child will discover and apply these steps in their faith walk:

At Ivanrest Church each girl will discover and apply these steps in their faith walk

  1. To help bring girls into a living, dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ. Through club meetings, crafts, and events.
  2. To grow bigger hearts. Through service projects, devotionals, and lessons.
  3. Learn how to love and care for one another, other people, themselves, and their relationship with God. By learning about Jesus Christ, what He has done for us, and His plans for each of our lives.

What do you do when you get here?

If you are new or visiting, your child will meet their counselor and sign in.

What will we do during GEMS?

Your child will play in the gym until the club meeting begins. The girls will gather around for a devotional time, and then will split into their small groups where they will do a lesson, badge, or a craft. They will end their time with a snack, and will be free to be picked up in the West Wing when the time is done.

Who will be hanging out with your girl?

Each of our volunteers have been background checked. GEMS is led by caring women who encourage the girls to learn, share, have fun, and to reach out to others in love.
