Who We Are

We are Centered in Christ because He is the the reason we exist. We are Focused on People because Jesus focused on people and we are called to imitate him. Jesus summarized all of God’s directions for our lives in Mark 12:30-31: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength…and love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”

Created To Be...

We are constantly becoming who God has created us to be. As a community and as individuals we are challenging and encouraging each other to invite others into a relationship with Jesus through our actions and our words, to accept others by celebrating diversity and each other by living in grace, and to care for others both within and outside our congregation.

Our Statistics

We are a community of 303 families and almost 1179 members. Our community includes people from a large spectrum of ages — from newly born to into our 90s. God has blessed us with a large number of children and young people which is evidenced by 20 professions of faith and 19 infant baptisms last year. We are thankful for the energy and enthusiasm they bring to our community.

Ivanrest Church is part the Christian Reformed Church denomination.
With about 300,000 members in 1,000 congregations across the United States and Canada, its often called “the CRC” for short.

Why call it the Christian Reformed Church?

— a great question

Let's Answer that

  • Christian because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers.
  • Reformed because we follow the teachings of 16th-century reformer John Calvin
  • We are ‘reforming’ our own lives to live more and more godly every day
  • We recognize all people who accept the teachings of the Holy Bible
  • As summarized in the Apostles’ Creed, fellow-Christians are brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ
  • Church because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world
  • We’re a community of believers challenging and encouraging each other in our walk
  • John Calvin struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots.
