“I will not offer to the Lord my God sacrifices
that have cost me nothing.”

— 2 Samuel 24:24

Financial Giving:

At Ivanrest we seek to minister in Christ’s name with the preaching of the Gospel by:

● reaching out to those who are hurting and in need

● discipling new believers and our covenant children

● building supportive relationships with each other while giving praise to God through our worship and daily living

Scripture calls us to “give generously as the Lord has blessed you.” Members are encouraged to follow our Lord’s directive from I Corinthians 16:2, “On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income.

Additional Information:

Here’s a list of some of our designations and areas that you can direct your giving into.  This can give some deeper insight into just how your giving is used to not only impact this city, but the larger community.

First Fruits

We acknowledge that ministry requires giving back to God some of the financial blessings He has given us. At Ivanrest, this giving back to God is called our “First Fruits” program. First Fruits are used for extended ministries of Classis Grandville and various Christian Reformed Church agencies.

Faith Promise Fund

The Faith Promise Fund promotes and fosters among the Ivanrest congregation a vision and passion for God’s kingdom by connecting our people, connecting with the community and connecting globally. The fund is managed by the Outreach Focus Team. Offerings for this fund are received during the second morning offering on the first Sunday of each month. A green giving envelope is used. Offerings may also be placed in the main budget envelope (please designate ‘Faith Promise’ on the envelope). Each year during our World Tour week in November, the congregation is asked to make their own Faith Promise pledges for the upcoming year’s operating budget. With our Faith Promise Commitments, we pledged over $91,000 to support 12 missionaries, various causes around the world, and Ivanrest Impact Trips.

Benevolence Fund

As believers, Christ calls us to care for the poor and needy. This fund helps members of our church and community who have needs that are beyond their current income. The deacons are grateful for financial gifts which enable them to assist individuals and families. Financial assistance is accompanied with understanding, love, and encouragement. Offerings for the benevolence fund are collected periodically during the year. Offerings to this fund can be inserted in the main budget envelope (please designate ‘Benevolence’ on the envelope).

Christian Education Assistance Fund

The Christian Education Fund is used to help families meet their obligation toward Christian School tuition. Christian education is strongly supported by the Christian Reformed Church. As a church body, we believe that any family wishing to send their children to Christian schools should be able to do so. If the family cannot afford to pay some or all of the tuition, they may apply for assistance. Applications and interviews are processed by an independent consultant and then reviewed by the Christian Schools Focus Team. There is an offering on the the third Sunday of each month for this fund. A yellow giving envelope is used. Offerings may also be placed in the main budget envelope (please designate ‘Christian Schools’ on the envelope). Online donations can also be given. The current budget is $120,000.

Building Expansion Fund

We are currently paying $10,200 per month to service our debt of approximately $530,000. Additional payments made to the building expansion fund help to reduce our principal balance and associated interest. Our building is being used more than ever and the number of ministries using the space continues to grow! The facility is being used seven days per week. Offerings to this fund can be inserted in the main budget envelope (please designate ‘Building Expansion’ on the envelope) or you may donate online.

Specific Missionaries or Causes

If you would like to donate to a specific cause or missionary we support, you may do that as well. You may indicate that when you donate online or on the budget envelope. If you do not see the cause you’d like to give listed, please contact Betsy Miedema.
