Mark 7:31-37

Last week we talked about how the people in Jesus’ day often divided the world into good and bad people. Well, for first century Jews, some of the “bad” people were anyone who wasn’t Jewish themselves. And yet, here in our text for this morning, Jesus finds himself in a non-Jewish area, meeting a non-Jewish man, and healing him. And it tells us something about what the make-up of God’s people, his covenant community, his Church will be like in the coming New Creation.
