Luke 18:9-14

The first step in the Christian practice of repentance is desire–Turning away from our desire for things that are not of God and toward our desire for God himself. The next step, then, is humility. In the presence of God, we are appropriately humbled. But, once humbled, we also come to know him more fully, in all his wonderful glory and love.
