I Am the Resurrection and the Life
Job 19:23-27; John 11:17-44
Today we begin with marbles – black, gray, pink and red. The validity of Jesus’ most dramatic “I am” statement, “I am the resurrection and the life,” was voted on once with marbles. Black won the day; red lost. We go to a cemetery today, not the one with the Easter tomb, but another. It’s a tomb holding in a man 4 days dead. There, in the presence of death, painful, devastating death, and death apparently allowed by Jesus who delayed coming until He knew it had happened, there Jesus declared “I am the resurrection . . .” And He added a question He asks you today, “Do you believe this?” What is your answer: black or red?
