Kingly Character
Deuteronomy 17:14-20
They say the person you are when you’re alone is the true you. The idea is that our private character matters. That’s true in general, but it’s especially true for leaders, something God makes clear in our text for this morning. Israel’s kings needed to be people of character. Our leaders today do too, and that’s our focus as we continue our series on faith and politics this morning.
A second book I’ve found helpful in preparing this series is Christians in the Age of Outrage by Ed Stetzer. It’s one of the better books I’ve read recently, and I highly recommend it.
