Matthew 28:16-20

A number of months ago our Council voted to change our purpose statement from “Growing God’s Kingdom Through Active Discipleship” to “Love God. Love People. Make Disciples.” Last week we looked at the teaching from Jesus behind the first two phrases in that statement, “The Great Commandment” in Matthew 22, which teaches us to Love God and Love People. Today, then, we’ll look at the teaching behind that final phrase, “Make Disciples,” which summarizes Jesus teaching in  “The Great Commission” in our text for this morning.
