Philippians 2:1-11

We begin by hearing a testimony: “wherever I have seen the print of His shoe on earth, I have desired to set my foot, too.” Not a one of us can say that truthfully. What Paul calls “selfish ambition” and “vain conceit” seem always to get in the way. But his remedy seems guaranteed to disintegrate the Body: “Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” We find it relatively easy to look into the interests of others, but Paul urges us to look out for them, and therein lies the solution: “have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.”
