The Demas Demon
Philemon 23-24; Colossians 4:7-18; 2 Timothy 4:9-18
A nice young guy, full of energy and enthusiasm, one of Paul’s “fellow workers.” He’s on the executive team; he’s involved; he’s one of the movers and shakers; top tier! Who wouldn’t want Demas on their team? And then, he starts to fade. And the one introduced as Demas the “fellow worker” and then mentioned as just “Demas” becomes ‘Demas the deserter.’ What happened? Maybe if we try to answer that question, we will learn how to avoid the same conclusion.
