For the next four weeks, we’re going to look at one of the most famous, but also strangest stories in the Old Testament: The story of Jonah. As famous as it is, it contains some surprising twists and turns, both for Jonah himself, as well as for us as readers. So buckle up, friends. It’s going to be a wild ride!
If you’re looking to go deeper into this sermon series, two resources I’ve found helpful in understanding Jonah are Tim Keller’s The Prodigal Prophet and Sinclair Ferguson’s Man Overboard! I would also recommend Tim Keller’s 2006 lecture on evangelism from the Desiring God conference. It’s not directly about Jonah, but Keller uses the book as a window into what evangelism looks like today.
