Matthew 22:34-40

A number of months ago our Council voted to change our purpose statement from “Growing God’s Kingdom Through Active Discipleship” to “Love God. Love People. Make Disciples.” This new purpose statement is a summary of two of Jesus’ main teachings in the gospel of Matthew: The Great Commandment (Love God and Love People) and The Great Commission (Make Disciples). Today and next week we’re going to look at each of them to better understand how we can fulfill and live out our purpose as disciples of Jesus today.
