The Holy Catholic Church
At the end of the Apostle’s Creed, there are five brief statements: “I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.” Each of those statements, it turns out, details a different aspect or work of the Spirit in our lives and the Church. And so, as we continue our series on the Holy Spirit, we’re going to take each of those statements in turn and see how the Spirit continues to work in our hearts and communities as Christians today.
If you’re looking to go deeper into this sermon series or would like to learn more about the Holy Spirit, I’d recommend Francis Chan’s wonderful, little book Forgotten God.
