The Kingdom Without the King
Genesis 11:1-9
No sooner had God created us than it all went off the rails. Rather than live according to God’s will, we chose to live according to our own. Rather than image him, we chose to force him into ours. Rather than serve him, we chose to serve ourselves. We wanted the creation, the life, and the calling he’d given us, but on our terms. In short, we wanted the Kingdom, but not the King. But the King has come. He’s called us back to himself. He’s redeemed and renewed us. And he’s offered to restore us to who he created us to be. It’s all his grace. It’s all his goodness. And it’s all his Gospel good news to us.
