Traveling Light
Exodus 12:31-42
Free at last! After ten plagues, Pharaoh finally lets the Israelites go. The weight of slavery has been lifted from their shoulders, and they’re traveling light with a bounce in their step on the way out of Egypt. The same is true for us. Because of Jesus’ resurrection that first Easter Sunday so long ago, the weight of our slavery to sin has been lifted from us as well. We too are free and traveling light in the joy and hope of the Lord!
If you’re looking to go deeper into our study of Exodus or experience of Lent, two of the books I read in preparation for this series might be helpful: Leaving Egypt by Chuck DeGroat and Great Lent by Alexander Schmemann.
