When Seeing is Believing
John 20:1-9
Wouldn’t it be something to see the Shroud of Turin? To touch the cloth that may have shrouded the body of our Lord? To see the only thing on this planet that may have actually touched the flesh and blood of the Son of God? John (and Mary, too) see the interior of the now empty tomb from the doorway. But their seeing was not believing. Peter goes inside and sees the burial cloths lying in their folds. But Peter’s seeing was not believing either. Then John enters the tomb and sees up close what he had only seen from a distance yet. And now he sees with eyes of faith. What made the difference? Take your fork along. This is going to be good!
