Vacation Bible School

i wonder... VBS 2022

We are so excited to offer Vacation Bible School at Ivanrest Church this summer! We can't wait to host students entering kindergarten - grade 6 (2022-2023 school year) July 25-27 from 6:30-8:00 PM each night. Then, the students and their families are invited to join us for a Family Night Picnic on Thursday, July 28 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Food, water games, fun activities, and time to connect with other people on a (hopefully) beautiful summer evening!

Kids are naturally curious, and when you’re curious about who God is it’s easy to grow your relationship with Jesus. That’s why, in this 3-part series for Vacation Bible School, we’re going to engage kids’ imaginations! Kids will not only get curious about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics — but also about the God who created it all! They’ll hear from early church leaders like Paul, Peter, John, and Timothy, who helped the first Jesus-followers wonder what made their stories unique, what gifts God gave them (and how they could use those gifts to serve), what they could learn from others, and how they could spend time with God. Watch for more information later this spring!

Registration opens May 1 for both students and all students who register before July 1 will receive a Tippy Cow Ice Cream coupon!

Many volunteers are needed to make our VBS week a success!

Prayer Team: We want to cover VBS preparations and activities in prayer. To receive regular updates, email Ashley to be added to the email list.

We are currently actively seeking people to serve in the following positions. Please indicate all the areas you would be willing to serve and we will create volunteer assignments as registration numbers come in. All volunteers will receive a free VBS t-shirt!

Group Leader: Responsible for leading a small group of students through the events and activities of the evening, including teaching a small group lesson (materials all provided!)

Group Helper: Assist the Group Leader in leading a small group of students through the events and activities of the evening

Craft Helper: Direct students in a craft or activity. Everything will be planned for you and all materials ready to go!

Registration: Work the registration table each evening to sign in students as they arrive and give them a name tag. Computer savviness is helpful!

Snack Server: Prep and serve provided cookies/bars and drinks

Security: Walk the church property inside and outside watching for suspicious activity

Nursery: Provide childcare for VBS volunteers

There will be more opportunities coming soon. Stay tuned...
